“If you win the morning, you win the day.”
– Tim Ferriss
You probably have heard about morning routines, and how successful people start their day in a certain way. Think about it: the way we start our day sets the tone for the day ahead, doesn’t it?
The thing is, we all have a morning routine. Maybe it is deliberate and planned, or maybe it has randomly and unconsciously formed over time in a way that does not serve us. For a very long time my morning routine was the latter: poor habits that I had accumulated over time and I was mindlessly repeating, day after day.
It took me a while, some knowledge, a bit of experimentation, but most of all the desire to improve my life, before I changed my daily routine and established an empowering one. Having done that, I can say with certainty that as a result the quality of my days has vastly improved.
Some elements of a powerful morning routine are:
- Hydration
- Meditation
- Gratitude
- Affirmations
- Physical exercise
- Setting targets for the day
I will go into details on these (and other) elements of an empowering morning routine in another blog post. In the meantime, I’d like to link to a superb blog page that sets out the importance of what we do in the first 20 minutes after we’ve woken up. I hope you enjoy it!
